Mr. Saffold has worked in the nonprofit, academic, and private sectors and attended the University of California at Berkeley and Central Michigan University where he received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. In the past, he has worked as an IT management consultant with the Gartner Group, developed technology training and web design programs for UC Berkeley, helped develop technology access points and a web portal for East Palo Alto in partnership with Hewlett Packard and Stanford University.

Currently he serves as the Administrative Services Officer for Human Resources in the City of Modesto. He has been a guest speaker on various topics including creating a culture of service, leadership development, empowerment, goal execution, social media technology, and technical capacity building for nonprofits. He is passionate about the use of technology to improve customer service delivery.

Rodney Scott has served as the Director of Evangelism and Discipleship at Progressive Community Church in Stockton, California since 2000. It was at Progressive that he founded the S.A.L.T. Ministry. The acronym S.A.L.T. stands for Share, Answer, Love, and Teach. The ministry serves to train members how to lovingly, intelligently, and competently engage the culture for Christ by acting like salt (Matthew 5:13). This is accomplished through ministries founded by members of Progressive such as Green 4 Life, L.I.V., Street Soldiers, M28, the Clothes Closet Ministry and the Apologetics Ministry, which serve via evangelism outreaches, apologetics seminars and conferences, feeding the homeless, providing clothing for the needy, conversing with non-Christian religious groups, and partnering with the Stockton Pregnancy Help Center which provides services for struggling families and works hard to curtail the abortion epidemic in this country.

Rodney has over twenty-six years of experience teaching theology, evangelism, and apologetics. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biblical Studies from Biola University and a Master of Arts Degree in Philosophy of Religion and Ethics from Talbot School of Theology, Biola University.

Rodney has been married to his wife Khala for sixteen years. They have one daughter named Shuree and reside in Stockton, California.

David united with Progressive in 1999 and added to the Progressive staff as Youth Pastor in 2010. He was raised in Stockton and upon graduating from Tokay High School in 2004 he attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago Illinois where he received a B.A. in Biblical Exposition in 2009. He and his wife Ashley were married in April 2011. They are passionate about loving God and other believers and strive to give all they have for the sake of growing God’s kingdom one person at a time.
